This Japanese ballpoint pen is machined from a solid block of duralumin, the lightweight aluminum alloy used in aircraft. It is not cast or molded. Instead, it is cut from a single block, with material removed until only what is needed remains. The result is a metal ballpoint pen that does not feel heavy or cumbersome in the hand.
Its tapered shape shifts the center of gravity closer to your grip, so it feels natural to hold and remains comfortable even during long writing sessions. At 21 grams, it has the weight you would expect from a premium ballpoint pen, without the fatigue that often comes with heavier metals such as brass or steel.
I keep mine in the Solid Stainless Steel Pen Holder on my desk. The holder is machined with 0.001 mm precision to fit the pen, allowing it to stand securely without a magnet. There is no cap and no click mechanism. I simply pick it up and start writing. For quick notes, it is the fastest pen on my desk.
It uses a Uni Jet Stream refill, one of the smoothest ballpoint inks made in Japan. It dries quickly, writes without skipping, and is easy to replace with refills available online.
